Pressure Reducing Valves
A pressure reducing valve‘s purpose is to lower and regulate incoming (upstream) supply to the desired outlet (downstream) pressure. Sometimes pressure reducing valves are referred as PRVs, although it is important not to confuse with pressure relief valves.
Typically used on water or air, PRVs allows the user to adjust the required outlet pressure using a knob, dial or wheel. The valve will adjust to changes in incoming pressure or flow changes to output a uniform and steady supply. A uniform system pressure has many benefits including protection from high pressures, damage to systems, burst pipes and excessive usage. Pressure reducing valves lower incoming water pressure to a consistent and manageable level via a spring-loaded piston and diaphragm arrangement.
PRVs are available in a wide range of sizes, in order to offer the right solution for a wide variety of applications and connection types. Outlet pressure ranges can be tailored to your specific requirements with a specific spring range.
